High School Reflection
What I've learned:
Over the past four years in e-communication I have learned skills in many different fields. I have learned how to use a variety of editing programs that are used for editing videos and pictures and also for creating animations. Some of the most useful skills that I have acquired is the knowledge of how to create a story and effectively present that story in an easy to understand way. This is also connected to another part of the program: teaching its students valuable collaboration and communication skills. Personally I have really come out of my shell and have become a better team player over the past four years. I owe it to E-comm and my time participating in theatre for helping me do that. Working in group projects and presenting our finished products really helped me not only learn how to be a team player but also step up and take command when needed. And when we weren't working on group assignments we were working on our individual projects. With my personal projects I had to manage my time wisely and make sure I finish before the due date. Recently I over estimated my ability to finish a project on time to enter it into a contest called e-magine. So I started on a new project, one that was simpler and that I knew I could finish. I paced myself and was able to complete this new project on time for me to enter it into e-magine.What I've done:
I have spent these four years in e-comm trying to learn what I'm best at and what I feel is best for me. I have learned that my interest lies in 2d animation. 2d animation is best for me because it is what I'm best at and it allows me to create my own characters and stories. However, I still need to improve in some aspects of animation. I would like to improve my 3d modeling skills even though I will not be using it very often. My time in e-comm has been a great experience and I wouldn't change anything about it.
The Future:
Although Ive spent the past four years learning how to animate and make videos I will not be perusing a career in these fields. I do intend to keep animating as a hobby but I do not feel working as an animator is best for me. I will be attending Bradley University to study theatre and secondary education with an emphasis in social studies. After that i'm still not sure what I want to do. Part of me wants to be an actor and another part just wants to be a down to earth history teacher. Whatever I end up doing I would like to continue animating on my own and find a way to incorporate animation into my life.
Goodbye:
This is likely to be my last post on the blog now that I am graduating. It has been a fun couple of years being able to create things and being able to share them on the internet. So for the final time I would like to say, goodbye.
